How to Build a Material in Marmoset Toolbag 3

Marmoset Toolbag is a real-time 3D renderer used throughout the industry.

Select the bitmap type you want to add and import the bitmap into a material.

Marmoset works by default in the Specular/Gloss workflow.

To use the bitmaps found in the PBR Metallic/Roughness workflow there are certain things that need to be changed. 

For the roughness map,the microsurface bitmap will need to be changed and the 'Invert' checkbox checked on.

The reflectivity will need to be changed to metalness before importing the metallic map. 

NOTE:

The Base Color will just be applied to the same location as the Albedo Map.


Drag the material that has been created onto the geometry in your scene. 

Some things to Consider

The normals may look strange in the scene, these can adjust what direction the X,Y and Z are oriented inside of Marmoset.

The colorspace may need to be changed. Within each bitmap type there is an option to check sRGB on or off.
